Do both pets need to be in the same photo?
 

No.   I can work from separtate photos to create one piece of artwork.   Here's an example.  I drew Phoebe, the yorkshire terrier from the photo on the left.   I drew Mattie, the cairin terrier from the photo on the right.

How long does it take to finish a drawing?

 

Once we select a photo for me to work from it generally takes about two weeks.

What kind of photo works best?

 

The large digital photos are best.  Set the 'settings' on your camera or cell phone to the Largest or Highest Resoultion.   See more Photo Tips

What do you use to draw the portraits?

 

I almost always use Faber Castell 9000 graphite and General's Charcoal pencils on my portraits. I sometime use Wolf's Carbon pencils, white charcoal and Primacolor Colored Pencils.    I usually draw on Archers 140# Hot Press watercolor block paper.
